I couldn't be more proud to represent Census Tract 4601 on the Altadena Town Council. My family made our home in Altadena in 2022, after years of coming up to visit friends and hike the trails. It was a dream come true for us. Sadly like so many others, the Eaton fire took our home and our businesses (my music studio and my wife’s painting studio). It was a tremendous shock - but what hurt even more was losing the neighbors and community that had come to play such an integral role in our daily life. Shortly after the fire, I began hosting weekly meetings to keep my neighborhood connected and to make sure any important information and resources reached everyone. Soon after I took on the role of neighborhood block captain with Altagether. This recovery has become my fulltime focus. I believe we are so much stronger when we all collaborate and learn from each other - especially in crisis. I am driven to see Altadena return to the uniquely beautiful and diverse tapestry it was just one short year ago. As your representative I promise to do everything I can to make that happen.

Representation: My first priority will always be to listen and learn from this incredible community in order to represent every resident to my fullest ability.
Ensure Information Access: Every resident should have access to accurate and timely information and the resources needed to successfully return to Altadena.
Amplify Community Voices: Advocate county agencies, utility companies, and the Board of Supervisors to ensure that the community’s input is heard and factored into every planning and recovery decision.
Secure Financial Support: Push government representatives, as well as philanthropic partners, to bring the necessary financial resources and attention to our community, and ensure we can build back inclusively and resiliently.
Support For Our Businesses: Support for the businesses that gave Altadena its warm, inclusive small town feel. Make sure the community has a seat at the table when it comes to Altadena’s economic and business recovery.
As a Neighborhood Block Captain with Altagether I helped launch and now co-write the bi-weekly captains' newsletter, connecting over 150 block captains and their residents across Altadena.
I am a co-chair of the Eaton Fire Collaborative Rebuilding Committee, where I participate in crucial discussions around disaster recovery, case management, bulk-material purchasing, and fire-resilient construction.
Through my work I have established connections with the county, state, and governor's office. I plan to leverage these relationships to bring our community's issues to the forefront and secure the resources we need to successfully rebuild.
I have experience with construction, including multiple owner-builder remodel projects. My family's new house is fully designed by my wife and myself, and we plan to oversee much of the rebuild ourselves in close collaboration with proffessional contractors and subs contractors.
MORE ABOUT ME
I grew up in the San Fernando Valley - attending Highland Hall Waldorf School in Northridge. After graduating, I moved to New York where I completed a BA in Communication and Art at The Gallatin School for Individualized Study at NYU. I lived in NY for 12 years, starting my own recording studio in Brooklyn. After moving back to the west coast in 2012, I started a successful career as a film and TV composer, and had the privilege of releasing my own music with one of LA's best known indie labels - Stones Throw Records. I moved Altadena in 2022 with my wife Ana, a painter and educator, and our 2 year old Gabriel. Our youngest son Mica was born in 2023. In the summer of 2024 I completed a large remodel project on our garage, converting it into a beautiful studio where I housed a collection of vintage analog synthesizers, and other recording gear. This was to be our dream home, in our dream neighborhood, nestled in our dream community.
After the fire, I immediately sought to stay connected to the neighbors who had become so important to our everyday life. I helped start a weekly zoom, organizing the 36 households in our community. It was important to me that no one be left behind during our recovery. Along with a couple of other neighbors, I helped make sure our neighborhood was one of the first to sign our ROEs for the Army Core. We also petitioned the county to extend sewer service onto our streets. I started a Septic / Sewer Workgroup to bring information about the complexities of rebuilding with existing septic systems to others in the community dealing with this issue.
I joined Altagether as a neighborhood captain. As part of that organization I chair the Altadena Rebuilding Workgroup which was started as a way to share vital rebuilding information with the community.
I co-chair the Rebuilding Committee at the Eaton Fire Collaborative - a consortium of nonprofit organizations helping in the recovery of Altadena. This committee is working to form alliances within the Disaster Case Management partners currently serving the community in order to make sure those seeking assistance in rebuilding are not left to deal with recovery all by themselves.
I am very proud to have helped to start and co-write the bi-weekly Altagether Neighborhood Captain Newsletter which condenses a lots of information and resources into one easy to scan email. The newsletter is sent out every 2 weeks and connects to over 150 captains throughout Altadena, each responsible for communication to around 40 neighbors.
My wife and I decided early on, there's no place we could imagine ourselves other than back in Altadena. We want to see the beauty and unique character of our town thriving once more - for us and for our young sons. There's no other place I could image wanting them to grow up. I hope that through this rebuilding process we can teach them valuable life skills about grit and resilience, and how important it is to have strong community bonds and neighbors who will be there for you when you need them most.
